"Everyday Use" Before You Read: Tradition

Fifteen years from now I would be getting my kids dressed up for halloween to wear costumes and go trick-or-treating. This tradition involves going to Pary City and letting my kids pick out thier costume of choice and 3 bags of candy. Then they will be able to buy silly string and anything else used to play harmless tricks on people. One of my happy memories of this tradition was when I was a little girl I dressed up as a Vampire ride and me and my friends went to eachothers house to plan out who's house we were going to and who gives who a certain candy. I will share this with my children after Im done explaining to them the rules of what and what not to do while trick-or-treating to have fun. By sharing this with future generations I hope that everyone will take halloween as a day to get candy and not to be mean to others.

  2. Your final thought is great! I love trick-or-treating. As an adult who does not yet have kids of my own, I love to give special things to the adults who bring kids to my door as well as tons of candy to the kids.
